Al-Anon and Alateen Family Groups in Santa Barbara

How Does Al-Anon Work?

Al-Anon members typically attend one or more weekly meetings held at a variety of locations, days and times. Most of the meetings are open to all Al-Anon members.

Some meetings have specific themes, such as a Twelve-Step study or a daily book study, and all meetings listed are registered with the local District 8, Santa Barbara, and the national Al-Anon World Service Organization (WSO).

There are 28 English speaking Al-Anon meetings a week and 5 Spanish speaking meetings a week in the Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez Valley, Goleta and Carpinteria area. Meetings are listed on this site and in the printed Meetings Directories distributed at meetings. In addition, there is a weekly beginners meeting specifically for Newcomers on Tuesdays at 6pm and a monthly speaker meeting typically the 2nd Saturday of the month at 7:00pm with the room opening at 6:30pm for socializing. Although recommended, attending the beginners meeting is not required in order to attend other District meetings. We also have Alateen meetings 1 - 2 per week.
